Make sure to fix all leaks in your pipes. Humidity attracts pests. In fact, most pests can even sense water from far away. Don’t get in your own way when it comes to pest control. Preventative measures can do so much.

Dry Goods

Try using plastic storage for storing dry foods. Pests have easy access to dry goods when they are left in their boxes or plastic packages. Put dry goods inside tight, sealed bins after you shop. This will both keep pests from getting into your food, and it will keep your food fresher for longer.

Use hairspray to kill indoor flies. Although hairspray will kill flying insects, it is safe for others in your home. The spray sticks to them disabling them from flying to food or water. Hairspray is a great tool to use to kill bees that make their way into your home.

Do you have a mice problem? Try using mint. Line the perimeter of your home with mint plants. This makes your home less than desirable to mice. If mice are posing a problem, drop mint leaves in troublesome areas. This usually repels mice, but you must always use fresh mint leaves.

Steel Wool

Put some steel wool in any holes so rodents cannot crawl through. The pests will attempt to eat the steel wool, and they will die as a result. Put some spackle in the holes with steel wool to keep rodents away.
