Best Fwends & Cheeseburger
One rainy Thursday – June 21st to be exact – North Seventh at Bedford was shut down for Make Music New York. I am not sure what the band is called when only one guy shows up, but Best Fwends opened. The other missing Fwend was stuck on the BQE. But Matt & Kim were there upfront singing along. Dustin Pilkington, the missing Fwend, drew the faces on the banner that they bring to every show and he also did the cover art for this month’s Showpaper – that bi-monthly all-ages show guide printed on one sheet of newspaper.
Cheeseburger got two songs in before it started to rain. An old dude in a tropical shirt, pink shorts, and beach shades from “the classic rock station KCRX” or something introduced them. That was funny. I left when the downpour started and did not stay for Oxford Collapse.
