Upcoming: Takka Takka at Union Hall
Takka Takka is having their CD release party tonight 8/17 at Union Hall. I unfortunately could not make their Mercury Lounge show but I will be there tonight. You can't beat $5 for Takka Takka, Slowlands, and all the bocce you can play. Takka Takka was the closest thing we have had to a full band at Blog Radio. They had never even played acoustic before—I have no idea where Damion got that guitar but it complimented Gabe's voice, Conrad's tambourine, and JP's backups and beats on counter nicely. That Sirius show was a serious jam. Think Lou Reed on indie rock. Slowlands is great and I am excited to see them live. Their music is very mellow. But the first time I met Josh, he said he was listening to a lot of CannOx, which I think of as B movie sci-fi rap with futuristic beats by El-P. These guys are well rounded. Enough jabber, come to the show.
